Description
Pairing is initiated by a front-panel pushbutton. Pairing status is displayed on associated LEDs. A rear-panel terminal block allows the RU-BTLA pairing functions and status to be remote controlled by one or two separately available RDL remote controls. Pairing may be remotely initiated by dry contact closure.
The RU-BTLA can be sequentially paired with an unlimited number of Bluetooth devices. The most recently paired seven devices are retained in memory for re-pairing. Upon pairing to a new device, the oldest stored device is automatically deleted.
When paired with a compatible Bluetooth-enabled device, the module receives stereo audio from the Bluetooth source. The stereo Bluetooth audio feeds the line outputs. The stereo signal is also sent through two Format-A pairs to any RDL Format-A receiver (available separately). A stereo/mono switch set by the installer permits summed mono audio to be sent over one switch-selected pair to the Format-A receiver. All audio outputs are muted when the RU-BTLA is not paired.
With stereo operation selected, an additional Format-A source (set to Pair A) may be daisy chained with the RU-BTLA to a three-pair Format-A receiver. With mono operation selected, up to three RU-BTLA modules may be daisy chained to a single three-pair Format-A receiver. Connections between Format-A modules use standard CATx cable with RJ45 connectors.
The RU-BTLA modules may be powered from a Format-A receiver or from an external 24 Vdc power supply (available separately). When external power is applied to the RU-BTLA, power is sent out the Format-A jacks to other connected devices. The installer can customize the module name and programming password through the Bluetooth connection using a smartphone, computer or tablet terminal program. These modules feature studio-quality circuits and analog filters to provide audio performance exceeding expectations from consumer interface technologies.
