In conference rooms, auditoriums, arenas, stadiums and theater applications consumer (unbalanced) audio products often need to be interfaced with professional (balanced) audio gear. Adaptor cables and transformer products might provide an electrical interface, but they do not provide the gain necessary to bring the typical unbalanced -10 dBv (-8dBu) signal up to the +4 dBu standard that is commonly specified in many facilities. The fully connectorized RDL FP-UBC2 and FP-UBC6 provide high performance unbalanced to balanced conversion for two or six channels of line-level audio. Independent gain controls allow input levels of -20 dBV to -5 dBV to be output at +4 dBu. The output impedance of each channel allows driving low or high impedance loads. RCA inputs and XLR outputs provide for fast and positive connection. The FP-UBC2 and FP-UBC6 both feature the low noise, low distortion and excellent headroom and crosstalk performance that are typical of RDL products. RDL FLAT-PAK products are designed to be mounted quickly and easily. They can be screwed or bolted to any flat surface, or by using convenient optional accessories, they can be mounted to projector poles or DIN rails, as well as 19” or 10.4” rack rails.
